When we talk about old money style, we’re not just talking about being rich. It’s more about a way of dressing passed down through generations…or i like to say it, how people used to dress/live in the 90s. Although even then, there were various styles. Still, the quality of the materials was completely different and the style did not depend of the seasonal trends that now are set up by fast fashion brands.
Think of that perfect blazer your granddad wore that still looks amazing today, or a silk scarf from your grandmother that could easily be the star of your outfit right now. It’s about clothes that last and tell stories.
I kicked off Heritage Mode Maison because I believe fashion should mean something more than just following the latest trends. I want to show how this classic style still shapes what we wear today, and why choosing timeless pieces is a smart move for your wardrobe and the planet.
I am really passionate about Old Money Style – and not just for fashion, also as a lifestyle. And while I learn and create this lifestyle for me, while I build the habits and get informed on everything on this topic, I’d like to have space to share it. Space that will serve as a guide, a community which I searched for to help me to build this lifestyle and I did not find it…so i decided to create it.
I’ve never been into fast fashion or chasing trends. My love for timeless style started when I was a kid, watching my mom get ready for work or events. She’d stand in front of the mirror, and I’d sit nearby, chatting while she finished her look.
Her closet was full of classic pieces that still look stylish today. A few years ago, I found a box of her old dresses. When I tried them on, I was amazed. They were in perfect condition and still totally stylish. The colors and designs hadn’t gone out of fashion at all.
I brought them with me when I moved to Italy. Wearing them connects me to a time when style had lasting meaning. This love for the ’90s and early 2000s inspired me to start this old money style blog.
